Job Description

Position Description:

Purpose

The Dwinell lab Laboratory Assistant will assist the Hybrid Rat Diversity Program (HRDP) with genotyping and assist the SCGE Translational Coordination and Dissemination Center (TCDC) with the development of outreach materials related to gene editing technologies, and will perform other laboratory and administrative duties as required.

Primary Functions

* DNA extraction of rodent tissue samples.

* Assist with genotyping assays on a regular basis.

* Assist in maintenance of laboratory equipment including cleaning of surfaces, equipment, and instruments in the laboratory.

* Restock laboratory supplies as necessary.

* Perform data entry for sample submission and genotyping results.

* Become familiar with gene editing technologies and develop outreach materials for SCGE website.

* Assist the development of SCGE Platform materials related to drug development and clinical trials

* Prepare marketing materials related to the status of the HRDP resources.

* Assist the laboratory staff in data entry and management of animal distribution.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management. Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.


Preferred Schedule:
Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
